At one time or another, in our lives, we all have to face challenging situations that we are unsure of how to proceed.  Asking for help does not come easy for many of us.   We sometimes feel that to admit that we are unsure or afraid, makes us look and feel vulnerable or weak.  On the contrary, asking for help shortens the time we  spend worrying or carrying the burden.  Asking and receiving help allows us to spend more of our time on things we enjoy and less on the intrusive thoughts or feelings that revolve around our problems.

Most of us tend to wait till the problems become so overbearing and interfering that all facets of our lives are affected.  Our relationships begin to disintegrate, our job performance deteriorates, and our lives and thoughts in general are focused primarily on managing rather than resolving the problem.  Unknowingly, these managing behaviors become a part of who we are and how we interact in our environment.  Everything we do is, in some way, influenced, for better or for worse, by the challenges and the solutions that we must face.
